A SHORT HISTORY OF IGBINEDION UNIVERSITY  TEACHING HOSPITAL, OKADA

 Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital has been a leading name in Quality Medical Delivery, producing Qualified Medical Doctors, Nurses and Personnel in the Medical Sector of Nigeria founded in May 1993.

Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital is one of the most advanced medical facilities in the developing world. Purposely built as part of the “OKADA WONDERLAND” development. The Hospital is 65 kilometers from Benin-City and it is first of its kind in West Africa as well as the largest private Hospital in Nigeria.

Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital incorporate several clinical blocks and six ancillary buildings, which together provide a full range of state-of-the art medical services in a peaceful and attractive setting covering an area of about 40, 000 square metres.

The Teaching Hospital has a capacity of 600 beds, however about 200 beds are at present available for the comfort and convenience of both patients and staff. The building is linked by covered walk ways and corridors which are interspersed with tranquil courtyards and grassed courts lined with ornamental flowers and plants in general, stylish on the outside, the Hospital and College buildings contain a wealth of medical and accommodation features while in the inside, it contains sophisticated medical equipment such as Lithotripsy, Computer Tomography Scanner, Cardio Angiography, Ultrasonography, Mammography and Modern X-Ray machines just to mention a few, these make Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital unique in its own rank in Nigeria, it not in the whole of West Africa.
